St. Martin-cum-Gregory

Pre-conquest foundation.

The church was built to its current form between the 11th and the 15th centuries. In the 16th century it was scheduled for demolition and a start was made by stripping the roof lead. However the church was saved and the 15th century architecture remains. The tower was built in the 15th century and rebuilt with brick in the 17th and 19th. (Ref. 1)

A window at the east end has glass of the mid 14th century. (Ref. 7)
