Class Details
Dean GWR 3001 and 3031 Class, Principle class of express engines, 3001 Class first built 1891 as 2-2-2s. and rebuilt as 4-2-2s in 1894; the new engines appeared between 1894 and 1899.
Weight: 49 tons; Pressure: 160psi; Cyls: 20x24; DW: 7ft 8; TE: 12,800 lbs.
They were gradually replaced by 4 and 6 wheel coupled types and were taken out of service between 1908 and 1915.
