Theatre Royal

Original entrance to the Theatre Royal

18th/19th century: this was the entrance to the theatre until a second entrance built in Mint Yard became the main entrance on the building of St Leonard's Place in 1835.

I remember queueing up outside this entrance in the late 1950s for admittance to the 'Gods' at 1/- (5p).
