The city side view of Monk Bar

The 14th century Monk Bar is the tallest of the bars in York's walls.

The entrance to the wall walk anticlockwise to Bootham Bar is the dark doorway on the left in the tower. If you have time only to walk one stretch of the Bar Walls, this is the stretch to walk.
