St. Saviour's

15th/19th centuries.

The church is probably of pre-conquest origin and was originally built on land reclaimed from a marsh (the Hungate area). It was rebuilt in the 15th century and then most was rebuilt in the mid 19th century. The south side in this view is 19th century whilst the west tower is 15th century. (Ref. 1)

The church is now used as an archaeological centre.
