16th/17th centuriesThe two gables in the centre are 16th century. To the right and behind those are 17th century, whilst on the left the structure is modern, replacing a brick house removed in the early 20th century. (Ref. 1) The parents of General James Wolfe lived here from 1724 to 1726 but left the year before James was born. James fought at Culloden and died while commanding the British Army at Quebec in the battle, which secured supremacy over the French in Canada. (Ref. Black Swan Web Site.)
