Bootham Bar.

At this point a section of the wall was removed in the 19th century to create an easier entrance to the city than through Bootham Bar and the narrow High Petergate. St. Leonard's Place was built in 1834-5 for that purpose. The Bar Walls contunue about 100 m (330 ft) straight ahead.

Turn left to view Bootham Bar and return to the city and the Minster along Petergate. Move straight ahead to return to the City Centre through Blake Street, or to head for the station over Lendal Bridge.
