Market Street forms the end of a series of roads running just outside and to the south east of the old Roman Walls and continuing along Jubbergate, Newgate and St. Andrewgate.

At the junction ahead Market Street continues slightly to the Left, whilst Feasegate lead to St. Sampson's Square is on the right, and Peter Lane heading to High Ousegate is on the left.
