Museum Gardens.

At this point the Roman/medieval wall (on left, early 4th century) abuts St Leonard's Hospital Infirmary (centre, mid 13th century).

The Museum Gardens make up the grounds of St Mary's Abbey and contain standing Roman remains (the Multangular Tower) and many Roman relics in the Yorkshire Museum, a small observatory, and the remains of St Mary's Abbey including the medieval hospital building.

Turn left to move along the Roman wall towards the Multangular Tower; turn back to the entrance to the Museum Gardens heading towards Museum Street.
