Station Avenue

Ahead is the second road arch cut through the Bar Walls to give access to the new station. The arch, built in 1876, was similar to the southern arch on Station Road but was rebuilt as the current single arch in 1966. (Ref. 1c)

Turning left follows the ring road over Lendal Bridge to the City centre. On the right is Station Road leading up to the old station site and on to the station. Ahead is Rougier Street leading to Micklegate and Ouse Bridge.

This is part of York's Inner Ring road with much traffic.
