St Leonard's Place.

St. Leonard's Place was built in 1834-5. It's construction entailed destroying a section of the Bar Walls approximately 100 m (330 ft) long and removing the Barbican of Bootham Bar. It was suggested at the time that Bootham Bar itself be removed, but fortunately that did not happen.

The terrace of houses on the left was built in 1834 and contain City of York offices.
